PLEASE CHECK BACK LATER FOR MORE FIRE SAFETY INFO
Our Fire Prevention Officer is Lieutenant Jason Trow and his assistant is Lieutenant Daniel Coughlin. Both of these members arrange all fire prevention visits for the department. These two individuals are supported by many other members who dedicate their time to teaching fire and life safety. The members of this unit receive training yearly to provide the best knowledge to our community.
If you would like more information, or would like to schedule a Fire Prevention Visit for your school or organization, please email us at fireprevention@thiellsfd.com. Please include your name, telephone number, and name of organization, and one of our Fire Prevention Officers will contact you.
Pluggie is our robot fire hydrant. He makes appearances at many of our visits. He reinforces the lessons taught by our instructors.
Also available is a Fire Safety Training Trailer. This trailer is equipped with a full kitchen and bedroom setting. Each setting is used as a classroom to teach the hazards in each particular room. There is no age range for this training tool. The trailer is equipped with a smoke ejector to simulate a smoke filled environment. The smoke used is safe to use for all ages (it is standard party smoke) and should not interfere with any allergies or asthma.
